rest of sunday dinner photoshoot

i have been feeling completely overwhelmed by all the photography projects i have on my plate, so came up with a plan. a plan to cross things off my list! so instead of tackling the never-ending time-consuming weddings, i took a break to finish a few things on my list that were doable so that i wouldn't feel too overwhelmed to tackle the weddings.

here's the rest of the photoshoot i took (back in august! i'm the worst...) for my friend jennie and her friends who have a sunday dinner every sunday. a few of them have since moved, so they wanted some photos to remember all their good times. it was a really fun shoot! so glad i finally was able to send them something. and cross it off my list!!

while i was in denver, lisa's friends (who are now my friends) came over and we were able to squeeze in a photoshoot before the big birthday party for julian.

these kids are so sweet. and it didn't take long at all to have the perfect shots. a family of great models!!

i'm really having a difficult time getting through these photos. somewhat because of my 4 weddings in 5 weekends making me need a break from weddings, but mostly because i haven't gotten a good workflow down with my new software. i could do it all quickly in lightroom and i know courtney would still love the photos, but since i know photoshop makes them even better, i can't resist.

wedding time!

on saturday i drove up to calistoga in napa valley to photograph katy and ryan's wedding. my first of 4 weddings in the next 5 weekends. (only two of which i was only invited to as the photographer) it was a beautiful day... a bit hot, but gorgeous. katy was relaxed and just extremely happy all day... and it definitely showed in the photos (well, maybe not that middle one. but that one just shows how fun she is)

i'm hoping to get to all of these this week before i fly to philly this weekend to photograph courtney and ray's wedding. my real goal is to have a slideshow by friday, but that's aggressive.

happy birthday blair!

oh no! i meant to post this yesterday!! back when it actually was blair's birthday...

isn't it always fun to still get happy birthdays the following day?? here is a photo i put together for blair of her niece, anya, who i had the very great pleasure of meeting this past weekend. she was a doll and a GREAT model! more photos of this pretty princess to come...

chloe's 1st birthday present

i'm working on a mini-scrapbook for chloe as her first birthday present, even though she turned one way back in july. better late than never! since i live so far away and wasn't able to take a lot of photos of chloe :(, i asked lisa to send ALL the ones she had over the year. once she and aaron sent them i started going through them and doing some photoshop edits on them. here are two examples of before and after. hopefully i'll have the book done before chloe turns 2!!

went back east this weekend to meet leah! what a precious baby. perfect in every way, especially how you just lay her down when it's nap time and she falls asleep. amazing.

i wasn't able to finish her pajamas in time since the hours before my flight while i was trying to finish the sewing, i broke the needle! i was in too much of a rush to take a photo, but it would have been a nice addition to the blog. now it will be more difficult to have motivation to get it finished since i have all these photos of her to do. more coming, obviously.

new camera and lens

i decided to upgrade my camera to the 40D now that the 50D is around to keep the price down. i really do need two cameras for the upcoming weddings i'm photographing, so i'm keeping the 20D too. i also realized for the weddings i need a macro lens for those close up details. thanks to my amazon.com credit card, i got a good deal on the lens and it arrived yesterday. can't wait to start using it!
