Wyatt and the Twins!! {Bay Area Baby Photographer}

While I was back east meeting my niece, I was also able to stop by to visit my friend Wyatt and meet his new brother and sister, Shane & Elliana. The twins were about 5 weeks old, so too big for the sleepy/curly shots, but we got lots of other great shots. It was so great to meet you guys!

Baby Vince {San Francisco Newborn Photographer}

Yesterday I had another shoot with yet another adorable baby boy.  So many boys!!  This one was with 8 day old Vince.  He was born 5 weeks early so was extra tiny and extra curly...  and open to trying on lots of fun hats!  I was excited he fit into a couple hats I made that were too small for some of the other newborns I've photographed.  Here's his sneak peek:

Hayden {san francisco baby photographer}

Yesterday morning I got to visit with adorable little Hayden for his first photoshoot.  Since he was 15 days old, getting the sleepy/curly newborn shots was probably not realistic, but we tried!  He didn't want to sleep though, so instead I took photos of Hayden being Hayden and doing what he wanted to do...  which luckily included letting me put him in a leaf-shaped basket wrapped in a scarf!  While sleeping shots are great, I do love awake shots too at this age.  It's a great first glimpse into what they're going to look like :)

Lisa {san francisco portrait photographer}

Lisa has been my best friend since we met at age twelve.  One of the biggest reasons I got into baby photography is because I couldn't stop taking photos of her beautiful babies, Jules and Omi.  Well now I am taking photos of her!  She asked me to do some for a regression CD (called The Art of Embodiment) she is putting out as the owner of 7 Steps of the Soul.  Luckily she was in town for Dana & Caleb's wedding last week, and we were able to sneak in a photo shoot around our busy schedule.

I don't normally do head shots, but enjoyed the challenge of this one...  and love any time I can spend with my Bestie!!  It's easy with such a gorgeous subject :)

dana + caleb sneak peek {sonoma wedding photographer}

Spent the day Thursday in gorgeous weather at Trentadue Winery up in Sonoma for Dana & Caleb's wedding.  Dana is the cousin of my best friend and I was asked to shoot her wedding many years ago.  I don't do a lot of weddings, but enjoy the challenge...  especially when it's someone as cool and beautiful as Dana :)

Wedding photos of the couple alone are always my favorite, so I'm starting with these for the sneak peek.  Congratulations Dana & Caleb!

new knit hat {san francisco newborn photographer}

i finally got a chance to stop by my favorite yarn store, artfibers, in the city this past week.  they make their own yarn and use the most beautiful dyes...  i just love all of the choices.  i saw this yarn and immediately knew i was going to make this hat.  the texture and colors are perfect for my next newborn shoot (most likely my niece or nephew!)  i did splurge and buy some other yarn too for another hat.  coming soon!  aaaand... might be back there in a few weeks to get some more of this stuff to make a cocoon.  so much fun to make my own props :)

homemade props {bay area newborn photographer}

one of the things i love about newborn photography is the excuse to start random knitting projects.  next week i am taking photos of my former roommate's new baby who's dad is a pilot.  he and my friend got engaged while flying, so i thought it was absolutely necessary to get my hands on one of those adorable aviator hats.  i could only find a pattern that was crochet rather than knit, so i dug up the one crochet hook i have and turned on you tube.  a couple hours later i had the perfect aviator hat for the perfect newborn aviator.  i then added a bear hat while i still knew how to crochet.  looking forward to trying these props out next week!
