i was lucky enough to be in philadelphia for a visit with one of my best friends just in time for her son brett's 1st birthday.

we planned a one year cake smash shoot in her kitchen. i made the hat the night before at the monthly craft night i have with some friends.  i was surprisingly able to find all the fabric and tools for the hat hanging around my (studio) apartment.  no wonder we have no storage space!

big sister leah got in on the photo shoot action as well.  while mom was inside getting the birthday boy and cake ready, leah and i went outside for her shoot.  she was sooo sweet, doing every pose i was telling her to, not always knowing what to do with her hands.  so cute.

after cake, dad came home with a brand new puppy!  so we had to get some family shots in there as well.  i had such a great day hanging with one of my favorite families on a super special day - not only did brett just turn one and they got a new puppy, but brett started walking!  so exciting!

elena maternity {bay area maternity photographer}

my family and i surprised my dad last week for his 60th birthday down the new jersey shore.  he didn't know my sister and i were coming out from san francisco to spend the week with him.

an added bonus was getting to spend time with my six months pregnant sister who lives in new york.  i was so excited her belly was big enough for a photoshoot!  (and that we were both on a weird enough schedule that allowed us to shoot on the beach at sunrise)

baby sloane sneak peek {san francisco newborn photographer}

here are a couple photos from my very first official newborn shoot.  baby sloane was a wonderful model especially once we figured out how to get her in a super sleep.  we played with different blankets, hats, a wine box, her puppy-sister, killer whale, and my favorite...  beautifully re-upholstered theater seats (shown in the second photo).  i had so much fun, i really hope i am able to do a bunch more of these kinds of shoots in the near future.

baby wednesday sneak peek {bay area newborn photographer}

yesterday i was lucky enough to have TWO newborn photoshoots.  the first of which being my actual first official newborn shoot.  what a great day!

below are photos from the second shoot of the day, baby wednesday.  she is the daughter of a coworker of mine so i couldn't show up at work today without photos to show everyone.

and just an FYI, her name is not really wednesday...  there was a small chance it was going to be so i thought it'd be fun just to try it out on her, just this once.  i know that's kind of weird, but i'm a kind of weird person.

oh, so sweet!  i have fallen in love with newborns...

elia sneak peek {san francisco baby photographer}

this weekend i had the pleasure of taking miss elia's first photoshoot.  she was a natural...  stayed happy through a few outfit changes and didn't even cry when the camera shutter woke her from her nap.  i think she was too excited to be modeling to go to sleep anyway :)  especially when instead of napping she was totally up for some tummy time.  such a good baby and so photogenic!

 

 

erin's pre-wedding photos {san francisco portrait photographer}

a few weeks ago i was honored to be asked by my friend erin to take some photos of her getting ready for her wedding before her photographer arrived.  the wedding took place at the beautiful and amazing Kunde winery and erin was the first bride to get ready in their new bridal suite.  the place was gorgeous and had lots of big windows for great light.  here are a few of my favorite shots.  once her photographer arrived i got to be a guest at one of the most beautiful weddings i've ever been to.  congrats erin and john!!
